Doesnt it require rejiggering existing societal strcutures tho? Like everythings seemingly built on infinite growth

if everything is built on the premise of infinite growth, then eventually everything will fail

The obstacle IS the way

Does Actual have forecasting, like for accounts balances

I wish raptors could be reanimated and made in miniature so you could have little Raptor domestici (house raptors) running around causing all kinds of hijinks

I think many of them were about the size of turkeys.

Velociraptor was quite small. Jurassic Park used Utahraptor, or Deinonychus as a model.

Its impossible, I tell ya

New Coke was a psyop so they could replace cane sugar with high fructose corn syrup. Sure we'll go back to the "old recipe", all the way to the Bank

Cokers ate it right up

The thing is people knew. Coca-cola "aficionados" recognized the change for sure. Living in the deep south it was quite a thing.

"We're not that smart, and we're not that stupid."

Mid-witted like a FOX

You seem to think corruption is this rare or quaint glitch that you can mitigate by simply naming it, that its not inherent to or an inevitable consequence of your worldview.

Power asymmetry for thee, not me

Why should the tax code be structured in a way that a rich person can pay less in taxes than a poorer person or someone who cant access such expertise? Is it just that a rich person can buy admission for their dumbass kid to a prestigious university too?

Please, tell us all about how they deserve preferential treatment and its right that shit always flows downhill, never uphill, that for those to whom much has been given, less will be expected

While you might be talking about the exceptional cases where rich are paying a lower marginal rate than 1%-er W2 earners, for the basic tax brackets the more you earn you exponentially pay more than those who earn less.

Fair tax is either Flat tax (We all pay 10% of our income) and user pays (You want infrastructure for your business? then pay for it).

Look, Warren Buffet should not pay less tax than his secretary. That is corruption of the tax code. Lets start with that. Also the nonsense where ultrarich can live off ultra low interest credit that effectively allows them to pay no or little income tax

Fully agree he should not pay less tax % than his secretary, however I also would contend he should not pay more either. that is if his secretary is paying 20% so should he.

I do think he should pay more absolute tax than his secretary... 20% of billions is lots more than 20% of $100k .

What I'm talking about is progressive tax rates where the % goes up the more you make. I do not think Warren buffet should pay 25% of billions just because his income has more zeros than his secretary's .

To the extent that people might say "Yeah but he uses more roads than the rest of us!", IMO that should be covered by user pays to tie the cost to the user. Gas tax is one such way this can be done. Business taxes are a bit crude but also could work.

> an outside observer

An inside observer can tho, and if they know or have it, cant they be subpoenaed and forced to disclose the identity?

This sounds pretty bad for journalists/sources. Why is this needed now of all times?

I think it's great for journalists and journalism because maybe people will stop paying attention to crap on social media, which won't have such verification, and they'll be instead looking at legit journalism.

Not to contradict but that sounds overly rosy

Your guess is as good as mine...

How do you shut down the notification system?

Without any warranty, you need to get rid of NotificationCenter and usernoted. The first gets rid of the gui, the second of the entire infrastructure.

launchctl disable "gui/$(id -u)/com.apple.notificationcenterui" killall NotificationCenter 2>/dev/null || true

launchctl disable "gui/$(id -u)/com.apple.usernoted" killall usernoted 2>/dev/null || true

To refine my statement on lazy or non-design. Notifications can be valuable, for me i'd like backup notifications and find my messages. Only those, ever. When only those are enabled, MacOS has their own secret settings and is allowed to nag about updates, incompatibility and maybe some other things i don't remember. Part of the problem is the illusion of control, and being spammy about self-importance of new OS versions. Great for some users, insulting to me.

This is made even worse by "focus" which still shows notifications but without the text. Then i'm distracted AND i don't know why.

Dont you have to disable SIP to get rid of all those buildins?
