Hate to break it to you, but I don't think the AI doomers have a monopoly on orgies. You name the political / belief system and I'll find an orgy for you by 10pm.
"it was written by that guy 5 years ago,but he left; so nobody is in charge and nobody understands it anymore, but it still works perfectly and we do not need any upgrades" :-))
"Okay, that's just about the end of your training, any quest-OH, Don't forget, you can never ever turn off the light in the storage closet! It is cursed and the company cannot function while the switch is off. Yes I know there's no lightbulb. No we do not know why. If we knew why it wouldn't be that way."
I worked at a place once with an old Win 2k server sitting in the corner of the server room. It had once been a workgroup/domain controller but was long retired from that job. As far as we could tell, nothing was talking to the box anymore and the box wasn’t hosting anything anymore. But for some reason if we shut it down, the network would have random failures to communicate between various devices. It was never especially high priority solve, so we just all knew that we couldn’t turn off that box. Never did find out what was misconfigured before I left.
Once I worked at a company in a "historic building":
In some of the rooms, the wallplugs were connected to the switch for the ceiling lightbulb and you had to draw/rotate the switch into the correct direction, to have energy on the wallplugs.
People always complained that something must be broken in these rooms, since they do not have alectricity the whole day on all the wallplugs :-D :-D
Yep, there's regular flying for dogfighting, mining, landing, etc. Then there's supercruise for getting around a star system, and FSD jump (basically a loading screen) for going between systems.
> minecraft has like what 40 biomes, no man's sky has practically infinite biomes
Does it? I put about 80-ish hours into NMS last year. According to the wiki NMS has 13 biomes. In practice it has even fewer because the actual biome has little to no effect on gameplay. It's just a "look".
The problem with history is that you need to know when to look. If you're looking for some old code that you know existed but you don't know exactly what it was, you can't just browse to go and find it.
