The author's wish is coming true. CSS techniques are already becoming unified through frameworks like Bootstrap and Foundation.

It is not the frameworks that are bringing about the change. http://oocss.org/ and http://smacss.com are bringing about this change. Bootstrap's CSS techniques are written with a heavy bias on OOCSS, and by doing that it is setting a good example. I'll give you that.

I just got something in the mail about a class action lawsuit against my bank for that very thing (processing transaction out of order to maximize overdraft fees)

I'd be happy if I could just turn off overdraft "protection" altogether.

I'll say this again and specifically on this comment since it spells out "30 choices" while others just hint at it -

There were no 30 choices. This was always the final logo. The 30 prior "logos" were a "whimsical" way of getting users used to the idea of change. None of those 30 logos were done seriously...

This is a godsend. Thank you to the developer, I'm already using it. It's cut transparent png-24s by 60% with no perceivable difference. Graphic designers rejoice!
