I would probably retitle this less as "programming tricks" rather instead make it "bash/zsh CLI tricks" as this only really tangentially refers to programming.
The author is going to have massive remorse if they think moving to macOS will let them customize things.
Using macOS (especially Apple Silicon era macOS) feels like being in maximum security prison. If you thought Windows Vista UAC was bad, macOS is doing it worse right now.
The reasoning is all wrong.

Also wtf. I'm far older than this author, and this statement they made is just complete and total schlock. They don't have enough experience to say what they're saying.
If I will be able to voice-dial my contact by its name again (used to work few years ago), instead Siri calling some random internet search hit who has the same surname, it is already a win...
