^^^ 100% this ^^^ - It's either a serious flaw in the agent/harness software, or a user error in usage/configuration or prompting. Either way, it's a human somewhere responsible for these outcomes.

At the very least, yes! These things should never be running without any limits on what they can do without some human signoff on important/dangerous actions. Not only should they have controls on those actions, but those controls should absolutely have some sane default settings.
There was never a user prompt requesting the creation of 823 agents nor a task assigned that would require 2130 billion tokens and the UX never provided any feedback on what codex was doing nor consumption metrics which would allow to notice. It was all hidden to me.

Yeah, there's also pumped water storage, and other forms of gravity/kinetic storage, various means of chemical energy storage, and all kinda other neat battery-like ideas folks have been trying/using.
The UK has Dinorwig power station, a pumped hydro station capable of storing over 9 GWh of energy. This alone rivals the entire combined 10.5 GWh of battery storage across the whole country. It certainly seems much more feasible when you have the terrain to allow it.

I think I would prefer an optional separate channel specifically for people to share such things with each other who wanted to see that exact sorta thing. Then nobody gets bothered by it who's not interested in such things, and people who are have a place that's dedicated to exactly that.

And (like Musk) can even be both (or more) all at once to a given specific individual (loved for the good he's done, and hated for the bad) and even pitied at the same time (for how far he's fallen), and feared (for the damage he can still do).
People here seems so much down the path of interpreting everything with the individualistic narrative. What's the guess under this? That once the puppet placed on the top of the pyramid is wiped out, the pyramid will suddenly evaporate?
What about social structures and ideology that are deeply enshrined within collective unconsciousness?
