It's the same thing, and both are vulnerable to disingenuous applications of cultural relativism.
You'll see similar arguments on this thread: "shame is just what you don't approve of", etc. Yes, it's just about being a decent person, and no, scientists still haven't discovered a moral axis in the universe that says what that means.
Unfortunately we're in a position where we have to explain that "just be a decent person", which is an inclination shared by 95% of people anyway, isn't some vestigial instinct that modern humans should be ridding themselves of.
Having kids is easily and by a huge distance the very best thing you can “build”. It’s the best project you’ll ever make.
If you can find a way to run a cool thing on the side then great. I’ve been lucky, or something, and I have. And I love it.
But my kids are a trillion times more important. And now they’re 21 and 19 I can live knowing that I’ve launched the best couple of projects in the world.
The IPO in my parental project arrived and stocks are doing well :-)
I just continually see people I very much like and respect posting stuff on there and the whole thing makes me want to vomit my lunch. I have a profile but wouldn't ever consider posting, liking, boosting, whatever it is you do. I'm very lucky in that I don't (currently at least...) need to promote myself, but I've been kind of shocked that all these people I know seem to be extremely active, and in a not-very-self-aware kind of way.
I guess it's the only place on the web now where people can post updates / follow people that isn't 1. so niche only 3 people are on it (federation), 2. twats and bots (X) or 3. narcissists (insta)
Literally setting fire to the world because the US government is rammed full of corruption and oil cronies. Meanwhile everything is fine for the handful of billionaires who benefit from this shit. Absolutely sickening.
I'd consider Substack if it had options to make my blog the canonical. But AFAIK that isn't possible; the only way of doing it would be for Substack to be the canonical and my blog the "copy", and that seems dumb from a future thinking perspective?
