That isn't 20 bucks. Seriously, this is crazy pricing for an app.

Any would you not want to support someone who implanted this? You probably squander more than $20 on meaningless nonsense frequently, why not support him a bit?

Because at $20 it’s cost prohibitive to a lot of non-professionals who may want to go out exploring and potentially find new discoveries.

The app is also a 7 years old


The borders on the pieces obscure the edge details that you need to help match the pieces up. Often there were pieces with letters that looked like they were needed another piece to complete them but actually they were whole but the border covered the edges.

It would also be nice if I could position pieces freely outside of the board so I could test out potential matches.

In the end, it became easier to just keep trying to place pieces on the board until they stuck together automatically.


I was baffled by this because the rightmost square didn’t seem to have any pieces where the letter would fit vertically — the unplaced pieces had a border which made it impossible to see which might.

You're totally right about the edges, I just fixed it so that the letters overlap the tile edges, which should help a lot with that issue. Thanks for the feedback! It's a little less clean-looking, I think, but it's worth it for the practical benefit. If anyone has an idea for a better solution, I'd be interested to hear it.

I'll take a look at free positioning pieces outside the board too, but I just want to give that a little more thought.


One small improvement IMO would be to display the pieces at the same scale as the board. It's more difficult to visualize potential positions while the pieces are at a smaller scale than the gaps they could potentially occupy.

BTW- This was really fun to solve! (And I rarely play games or solve puzzles.) Thanks for sharing it!


That would make it very easy and less about the words. They gave you a whole day to finish it for a reason.

I don’t understand what the timers labeled “still yours” mean in the sample images. Is that just a user label or some sort of special category for eg uncategorized time?

I also don’t understand what the different colored parts of the ring represent.

"Still yours" shows the total time available over all priorities.

The different ring segments represent the time allocated (available=light and used=dark) of each priority in the color you assigned to that priorty.


This is viable option if you are generally okay with the way the world around you works - if you live in a safe place with a good economy and a fair, well-functioning government. Unfortunately this is not the situation for a lot of people.

I’ve seen this exact behaviour and attitude from the exact position you claim, and it’s in fact what drove it largely in the first place.

CO2 sensors are not all created equal. The price of a good one is a large chunk of the cost of the device.


I have couple of true (and therefore more expensive) CO2 sensors around the apartment, all of them Adafruit SCD-40, each connected to its own ESP32 which broadcasts the metrics (including temperature and humidity) to MQTT broker which feeds into Prometheus. A Grafana instance running on a Raspberry Pi can then post an alert which goes into PagerDuty and also to a small speaker connected to the RPi to play a distinct tune when the CO2 threshold is breached in one of the rooms. Then on my work desk (not in a shed, unfortunately) I have a separate ESP32 with a display to provide visual-only alerting there which taps into MQTT to get the metrics (see https://github.com/vladak/workmon).
