Hoka is everywhere amongst runners in Australia; it got noticeable marketshare very quickly. I think they actively do trial sessions with public running groups?
I think they do have that - Nike SB for skate/street, Nike ACG for trail, etc. That said, I have twice gone to re-buy a trail-oriented shoe of theirs that I liked in the past, and found that it never stuck, and the new options in that space were garish or over-reliant on mesh which just lets in dirt and thorns.
I wear this category for hiking rather than running (prefer sneakers over boots - less weight). Current shoes are something waterproof from Columbia that I've worn in snow and desert trails and quite like. Bought on special in the US just before heading into snow, so didn't research much. Previously had Nike Wild Trail. And many years back, I think it was Nike Trail that I bought in NZ, but never saw that moniker again.
I was looking at Nike ACG stuff recently, but the colourways in AU are black (clodhopper!), neon blue, white with khaki, camo, or an odd light brown. And on the side it spells out "All Conditions Gear" like you're an idiot who can't remember what your shoes are for.
Nike are too narrow for me. I alternate between Inov-8 and Topo for trail shoes. I was really happy with an older pair of Adidas Terrex Pro, but haven't tried the new Agravic options in several years.
Trail running is highly dependent on the type of trails around you. I'm in the bay area and almost everything here is dry, dusty and hard. You can generally get by with structured road running shoes if you want to, and don't need much support beyond that. I would not recommend the same thing to east coast trail runners, or most northern Europeans.
Yes, I can't remember seeing a bathroom or laundry here that didn't have a floor drain. Seems insane for that to not be standardised. I briefly lived with a bathroom in the UK that was carpeted?!
i briefly lived in a house that had second floor laundry with no tray or floor drain. the first day after installing a new washing machine it flooded and did over 30k damage to carpet, drywall, and installed electrical. Insurance would not cover installing a floor drain or tray, and the owner chose to let that decision stand.

pretty much the whole dialog is plausible given the prompts the user is required to make to illustrate the point the author of the site wanted to make... but the thing thats ironic about the site is that ... if youre prompting the model badly, it outputs garbage. though i'm pretty sure the author didn't want to make that point, to me its a perfect illustration of this.
And the same applies to asking the model to explain themselves and the related question. Asking for a source of the term is fine, and it will either respond with one and its cleared up -- or not and you know its a hallucination. nothing special about it, as they constantly hallucinating. its usually just self-correcting during the agentic loop.

It used a medical term that is not an actual term. I asked it to explain how and why it would do this, having a rudimentary understanding of the technology. I learned the technical reason. How is that a pointless endeavour to learn more about the tool I was using?
Using a term like "admit" assumes the reader (on a technical site) understands the context and what is being suggested. A bit like someone saying, "The landscape spoke to me." I don't reply to the landscape architect and say "Mate, the landscape can't actually speak" because I understand the sentiment and getting pedantic is pointless in that moment.
The word "admit" conveys a context of "fault". If you're going to say a similar thing about the landscape admitting to something then I'd be callimg you crazy, yeah.
The ai psychosis in this case it's specifically because of the used word.
Same story as with words like "love" etc

No. They must be hallucinating.
And mind how 'they' so often select anthropomorphic terms, eg "hallucination" themselves, then ooze from the woodwork to behead someone who does the same, as if they own English and context itself. AI Psychosis, I think, simply means Double Standards and insulation from accountability in design.
There is a very interesting Plausible Deniability angle here. But I'll leave that for the future.
Also Australian, and I think there's something worth doing in this space, but I don't know how effective this Albo plan will be. Maybe there's an angle whereby an algorithmic sort (other than chronological, alphabetical, etc) loses liability protection somehow so the media companies are discouraged.
On Instagram, I can opt-out of "suggested content" but it reverts every 30 days or so. I would vastly prefer the default be that I have to opt-in every 30 days...
They're asking if there's an end game. If the single family homes get rezoned to three storey blocks, does that just become 10-storey towers and then arcologies, each more efficient than the other.
Maybe the answer is that the current single family home is an arbitrary point on the scale too, and should just be evaluated on merits for current and future needs.
