If you fly up from countries south of the US you have a tight list of airports you can clear customs at. Wilmington NC is the odd one on the eastern seaboard. Its about 520 miles north of the nearest one. For flights coming up from the Caribbean headed to New England its a lucrative place to be.
Flight plans are usually filed hours before a flight with old wind data and sometimes can't be changed in congested airspace.
But pilots really care about wind shear. Its the thing that makes people suddenly hit the overhead compartment. It typically requires flight crews reporting it to ATC over radio. Improving accuracy of local wind events is very valuable.
The way commercial real estate lending is tied to lease rates usually means its almost impossible for them to go down unless you operate at these scales.
Most commercial landlords around me would rather have prime main street spots stay empty than refinance because of lower lease rates.
Same one about the combo here. Almost every person I ask has some variation on that one. Crazy how universal it is in my world, especially since it's usually about something that would have happened 20 or 30 years ago, but never really happened.
